We all come to Batalladores with the goal of spending a few days of camaraderie and fun. As every gamer knows, clear rules are the key to a satisfying game, so here are our rules for a safe and enjoyable event. Code of conduct
All attendees are expected to observe common-sense standards of behaviour,
personal interaction, courtesy and respect. No offensive or harassing behaviour will be
tolerated. Batalladores is committed to ensuring a safe environment in which all people
are treated with dignity and respect. Harassment or any inappropriate conduct — whether
verbal, physical, visual or of any other kind — is strictly prohibited.
The Batalladores organisation reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the participation
of any attendee who, in the organisation's judgement, fails to comply with this policy.
What can I play?
Batalladores is a convention dedicated to historical simulation games. This does not mean that other types of games cannot be played, but space and time constraints require us to set some restrictions. Any game that cannot be considered a "historical simulation game" — taking this definition broadly — may only be set up during the evening sessions (from 9:00 PM onwards) or on Sunday morning. We ask for your full cooperation in this regard.
Organising games before and during the event
A few weeks before the convention date, a web application will be made available to all participants for organising games and activities. Through this application it will be possible to post games waiting for other attendees to join, or to sign up for games offered by others. Private games — accessible only by invitation from the organiser — can also be created. Of course, during the convention you will also be able to start or join spontaneous games.
Second-hand games market
The web application mentioned above will also include a second-hand games marketplace section. Games can be listed for sale, or you can indicate titles you are looking for. The application will simply put both parties in contact so they can proceed with the transaction. Batalladores accepts no responsibility for these transactions.
Game library
We're sorry, but the convention does NOT have a game library available for use by attendees. You will need to bring the games you wish to play.
Presence of publishers and commercial exhibitors
Batalladores is not a trade fair, but it encourages and welcomes the presence of various national and international wargame publishers who come to showcase their new releases and prototypes and, if they wish, offer their products for sale.
Prize draw
We hope to be able to offer a good number of prizes donated by our partner publishers for a draw among attendees. This year we are introducing some changes to the usual general draw format. We will keep you informed in due course.
Food and drink in the gaming rooms
Food and drink at the tables pose a risk of damage to the games in use. Therefore,
some restrictions are in place regarding consumption within the convention venue:
No food of any kind is permitted in the gaming rooms. The hotel itself and its surroundings
offer numerous venues with a wide variety of dining options.
Drinks consumed in the gaming rooms must be limited exclusively to those provided by the
organisation and must always be kept in the container each participant receives when
collecting their badge. Please keep the container closed at all times.
Room reservations at the convention hotel
Hotel Boston offers Batalladores attendees advantageous accommodation rates. During the month of September, registered participants will be notified of the opening of the room reservation period.
